What kind of cell phone can I get for my mom that will take her sim card she uses sprint/nextel in TN ??? and I know that she has a sim in her current phone but someone told me that sprint phones dont take sim's please help

If she has a sprint phone that takes a SIM get her an upgrade of that phone. They obviously make them if she has one with it. I had a boost that runs off of Sprints towers and it had a SIM card.

sprint phones don't use sim cards. they use what is called CDML technology. so when you get the phone, they have to punch a bunch of numbers into the phone to program it. the only companies in the US that use sim cards are AT&T and T-Mobile. all the rest use CDML. bad thing about it is the US is behind in technology in cell phones because most carriers still use CDML, and all the other countries in the world use GSM (sim cards)
