My family's favorite beach in southern California is the Balboa Beach in Newport Beach. What is your favorite beach in southern California and why?

100% laJolla and it's coves and cliffs

the Marina Peninsula ... technically it's part of Venice, but most people call it Marina del Rey because it's between the marina and the ocean ... I like it because it's never crowded ... (in fact, there is one section that's always so deserted that nude sunbathing, while not legal, is tolerated) ... I think the main reason there are so few people is because it's all residential ... there aren't any stores or any public businesses, so there's no public parking ... street parking is snapped up quickly by the people who live there, so it's almost like having your own private beach ... I used to live there years ago, and of the 30+ years and 8 different places I've lived in Los Angeles, it was my favorite
