What is a great cat toy for a cat who loves to chase things?

Small ball are good, but my cat's absolute favorite toy is an 18" length of soft braided nylon rope. She loves to chase it, to stalk the "snake" and to chase it in my hand. At night she plays with it by herself, and then proudly carries her "prey" upstairs and puts it on the bed next to me. Her second favorite toys are cat toys from LL Bean: A soft stuffed carrot and a stuffed eggplant with a liberal dose of catnip in the stuffing. They are just the right size for chasing and attacking.

Just a long piece of thread will do the trick! :-) mine love the game! I tug the thread they attack it & chase it all over the house, I get tired before they do lol……

A laser light..they them them. :)

Simple and cheap: Balled up sheets of paper. My cat goes wild over them. Be prepared to vacuum later, though.

A frickin' laser!...;-D... It's true. Cats have an almost irresistible attraction to frickin laser beams (attached to shark's heads or not)

A dog! Seriously, I used to have a male cat that would chase my dog around the house.

A laser light - our cat used to exhaust herself chasing that everywhere. She loved it.
