How many orphans are in the uk?

Have rich white folk run out of status symbols by now adopting Asian or African children as their next accessory? Would it not be a greater gift to aid the whole village rather than punish a village by leaving others behind? Why not orphans from USA & UK?

    The reason most rich white folk go abroad to adopt is because it is very difficult for them to adopt locally. It is very expensive for you adopt a child in the US and you can wait for years if you want a child that is white, less than 3-years-old and/or healthy. Children that are over 3, black/hispanic/biracial/etc., and/or suffering from a costly disease are in abundance but not in demand. Most adoption agencies are reluctant to put non-white children with white parents as they feel the parents cannot raise them properly. If you have the cash it is actually quicker and cheaper to adopt from abroad.

Good point. I think they want to be "ostentatious" with their charitability, regardless of common sense. The few kids will grow up "well fed" but, what else will they have? And what will the village have? Just one less kid. And another American kid does not get adopted.

I always thought the same thing too. I figured if you want to save 1 child and pay thousands of dollard in adopting from another country, why not pay those thousands of dollars in saving a village full of children? I think God would reward you 100x's more. And the village would too.
