Do Apple stores accept cash?

Is paying with a personal check becoming an obsolete? Many stores now will nor accept checks (they only take cash and credit/debit cards). And if they do take checks, make a real hassle of it. What's going on?

  • Answer:

Wow, I didn't know that. I normally use my debit or credit card or cash when I shop though. Maybe it's more difficult for them to ascertain if checks are legit as easy as credit or debit ... but those could be bogus too! I'm not sure.

I own a store. Yes, alot of places do not take checks anymore. Me, I prefer taking checks. Yes, sometimes a check will bounce and it is uncollectable. I pay over $500 a month is credit card fees for running those cards. I would Much rather takes checks, I never had even close to $500 in hot checks in a month. Believe me, I would much rather get ripped off every once in a while on a hot check than get ripped off every month by the credit card companies. As to what is going on, it is people are taught that is is easier to use a card, they get cash back incentives and do not realize that all those fees the stores pay to run those cards are being passed on to the customer in the form of higher prices.

TOOOOOOOOOOO many bounced checks and can't find the people or get them to pay! My grocery store now does a direct debit when you 'write' a check: you don't even fill the check out or sign it! No more 'float' on writing a check today when the paycheck hits the bank tomorrow! Can't blame the stores!
