What do you take for a one day trip?

Advice please: I'm getting ready to take a 20 day trip which will include a 14 day cruise. Since I can only take one more thing on the plane: what will be the best: a back pack or a large purse? why? thanks!

    I would go with a backpack since it is more confortable to wear when carrying a lot of things =) Although, women are usually allowed to carry both carry-on bag, and a purse. SO if you haven't already, it might be worth checking if that applies on your airline.

this would depend what are you used to carrying go with that. for me would be a purse that is what i carry.

I would take the large purse because it will be easier to access the things you need or want in it while you are on the flight.

a large backpack with everything you need for the trip along with a small bag inside just in case you want to go out with something small..of course this is assuming you will have a personal room on the boat in which you can leave your back pack and belongings
