My Dell D610 laptop has a green indicator shaped like a lock, with a 9 in the middle[on the keyboard], does anyone know what this is for and how i can get rid of it? it runs perfect in safe mode but in regular mode the desktop is locked out?

Did you register a password when you registered the laptop? And have you forgotten? That is probably it. You need to go back and re-register and say you don't want a log-in password. Just a suggestion. It could be something else.
