Is it better to do my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at a university (Waterloo university) in the country I live in (Canada) then do my Masters in engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA.

MIT has it's reputation all around the world as the leading technical university since ages.A masters from MIT would make you go a long way in life.I agree with the cost thing nighthawk has mentioned,but you'll definitely get the value for your money at MIT and moreover you'll get an opportunity to mingle with people from all around the world.
