Why is it that mens magazines have pictures of women, and womens magazines have pictures of women? Is it any wonder there is so much pressure on women to look good!

it is no wonder. and what is funny is that if you watch americas next top model, when the girls dont have makeup on, and thier hiar done, they look like any other girl (only taller and very slim) and when the photo is taken, it is usually photo shopped and the person in the photo is often alterd a bit, in order to make the "perfect model" of what women should look like. ya it is no wonder our culture is so oppesed with beauty. +3

if you saw me, you'd hide your camera. women, 22 or 82, always have beauty. of course, there are a few men's magazines that always have pix of men, but we probably will never find those at wal-mart. you bring up a SERIOUS point worth more discussion. so, the old chicken and egg question - which came first, society's obsession with women's appearances OR the media's objectification of women to sell magazines (or market products ...) ... +6!
