Difference between house music and techno music?

Do You know what is the difference between electronic music sub-genres: House, Trance, Techno, Breakbeat, Jungle, Hardcore, Downtempo? Explain as simply as possible.

  House: 4/4 beat with soul, funk and disco roots Trance: 130-150 bpm, a subgenre of subgres of house, industrial and techno. repetitive blippy synths etc. a little more minimilistic than house. Techno: technically the genre from which all other electronic dance music stems from. Breakbeat: formed from dj's ripping the good instrumental parts from albums, usually the "breaks" in songs. Jungle: the predecessor to drum n bass, it's basically electronic music infused with reggae, dancehall and dub. Sometimes, used interchangeable with drum n bass. Hardcore: fast like some drum n bass, but beats (and sometimes vocals and everything else)are usually distorted like industrial style music. Downtempo: slower than most electronic dance styles, usually very groove oriented. Elements of jazz, r&b infused. OF course there's also Drum n Bass, Intelligent Dance Music (IDM), Ambient, Happy Hardcore, Funky Breaks, Acid Jazz, Trip Hop, Gabber, and about a million other sub-genres but it's all electronic music to me. Though I listen to a lot of electronic music I prefer IDM, and downtempo more than others. All of it basically came out of the advent of the DX7, the MiniMoog and the Roland TB-303 and it's becomes so broad and encompassing I think it's hard to really call it anything and be 100% right or wrong as far as subgenres go.
