I have a 27 mth 32" Lexsor LCD TV HD Ready. When TV is turned on the red standby light is on, when i press a button the blue light comes on, the picture & sound are supposed to come on next, but they don't, Can anybody help! or know what's the problem?

  • Answer:

Not many people repair them down to component level now, prefering instead to fit replacment boards, however the boards are quite hard to come by as the company is no longer trading I have a 32" Lexsor with the exactly the same symptoms, the problem was with the power supply, I needed to change some the electrolitic capacitors, namely 680 and 820, 35v and any other ones that show signs of venting, it is easy to spot, look out for domed tops, they are chinese boards which use high temperature solder, so you need a 25watt soldering iron and a pump action desolder tool to get them out cleanly, after you have fitted the parts re-check the power supplies an the sockets.5v, 12, and 24v, if all is satisfacory the back-light should come on and you should get a blue screen, indicating that all is well. Other things to check if no back-light, are the step-up transformers on the invertor board and their driver transistors, use ohmic check only, they should all give the same readings within 1-2%, don't do a voltage check on the secondary sides of the transformer, else the meter and board suffer damage. If you need a manual let me know. I got my parts from Cricklewood Electronics. N.R.B
