What are the lowest and highest notes a cello can play?

Intermediate cello player,14 years old, playing Habanera from Carmen by Georges Bizet arranged by Mooney, measures 21 - 25,appears has to play two notes on same string, first time seeing that, not sure what to do. Can anyone advise? Much Thanks!

  • Answer:

try using two strings but shifting your finger on the lower string to make it sound like the note on whatever other string you are supposed to play. It might take a while to get it just right.
