Why is the new 360 so prone to scratches?

When i bought my new game and i play it in my console how comes the xbox 360 starts to scratches the game little by little like light scratches is this notrmol they are not deep they are lightr please help

    Firstly, your not meant to stand your Xbox 360 up as they Microsoft show you, that scratches the disk quite a lot at times and you are meant to stand it flat surface as well as placing your Xbox 360 so that the Xbox 360 logo is the right way round on the disk drive.

ok first thing im guessing is that ur xbox is standing up!? if it is put it lying down flat straight away and make sure its secure.. as far as i know u are not intitled to get the games repaired or replaced by the retailer becuz it wasn't sold to u like that but there are some places like music stores and game shops that clean/buffer the disc its still a 50/0 chance it will work but try it out anyway..
