How did the turkey for Thanksgiving come about?

If you cook... how can I make my turkey come out good and juicy? For this Thanksgiving I'm cooking and I tried doing it last year and it came out dry :( Please help... Thnx! :)

    free range turkey in a cooking bag..oxymoron at its finest....half stick butter, cob of corn carrot, 3 celery stalks, a few garlic cloves, basil, oregano, SSAAGGEE, salt, pepper all stuffed in the butt..(stuffing only tastes good when you dont understand bacteria in the anal cavity)cook for time allowed, and viola! a turkey that tastes like a turkey..i make this even not on thanksgiving..its a horrible holiday due to pillaging of Indians, but the traditional food is great!

Buy a Butterball Turkey. If that is not available get a fresh Jennie O. If not available...any bird! Should have a fatty appearnce to the skin. Use a meat thermometer! Google...Turkey. You will find more help then you knew existed. Go for a Hen turkey. It will be smaller and moister.

ok heres the trick:) Im new at cooking, especially the thanksgiving turkey. I have done it twice and it was a success both times. Heres what I did. 1st- make sure your turkey is completely thawed. Get the biggest disposable roasting pan you can find...dollar store:) Put turkey in the pan......(lift the skin near the breast skin and the meat) 1st rub a little butter underneath the skin and than add a few sprigs of FRESH rosemary and thyme. Than rub the whole turkey with butter (no need to melt it). Salt and pepper the whole turkey and cook. Stay home while your turkey cooks. Baste it with the juices that you get.
