How can I get a web design job in Toronto?

I am a web developer and I am good with code, but how do I get really good at graphic design for web sites? I really suck at graphic design and it is holding me up from getting a good job with my Web Development degree.

    I'd suggest immersion therapy. Get ahold of every design magazine, typography blog, layout book, etc. Look at design history thoroughly- especially Swiss grid designs and Russian constructivism. They are both easily adaptable to good looking web designs. Good luck in finding ideas and a job!

More and more site programming, and site graphical design, are becoming 2 separate fields. Good Graphic design needs an artistic bent and appeciation that is rarely found in nerds (and artist rarely have patience for the grueling logic needed to program well). So rather than trying to become a graphic artist, you might do well focusing on learning how to communicate with people who are. So you can team up and make a good site together ;-))

You could take a course or two in web page design too. I'm sure there must be classes like that available.
