There really isn't, and most people have come to accept women as equal, and for those who have not, well we have laws and stuff that prevents any real establisjment which might render women socially inferior as they were before. And that's probbaly not gonna change for a while...our society runs on money, and it's nearly impossible for a couple to live together but only have the man work. Both parties have to. I mean you hear opinions and views alla time, but they can only remain as such. The closest I think would be sexual related issues, where for example, some people still believe that rape can be justified, but then, women are often nasty themselves, by often playing with emotions and manipulation. However that's pretty much only in some parts of the world...other countries where morality is still gender based like Africa or Saudi Arabia still treat women as inferior and keep them restrained. However those also come from spiritual beliefs more than anything else. Islam for once, or practices in Africa where beatings are done on wives to scare them into loving you...of course they're not all like that, Africa is damn big, and women over there are quite feisty and stubborn while many of the men don't approve of treating their wives this way, and many parts of there attempt to emulate more modern countries as far as social behaviour goes.

A man who want sex and enjoys is just being a man. Men are praised for having multiple sexual partners and a lot of experience. A woman who is sexual and is unashamed of it is excoriated as a slut and a whore and has no self-steam and must have been abused as a child. in the media, movies and television and so on, women are still portrayed as secondary to male characters, especially in action movies, primarily as love interests and damsels to be saved. Even competent, bad-ass female characters are derailed into helpless damsels, in order to give the spotlight to the male heroes (a particularly bad example is Black Canary, a DC comics character who is portrayed, under competent writers, as a truly kick ass female skilled in boxing and numerous martial arts, a brilliant strategist, who possesses a sonic scream that can cause shatter objects and knock people out. Yet (male) writers constantly, CONSTANTLY make her into a weak character who frequently gets kidnapped, held hostage, injured, tortured, etc, in order to make her HUSBAND look cool. It's a common theme in fiction, and it happens more often than not. A woman in a position of authority tends to get called a castrating bitch, a ball buster, a cunt, a shrew, a harpy, and every other name under the sun for displaying the EXACT SAME traits, the drive and determination, aggressiveness and ambition, that males get praised for possessing, and called good leadership material. I know someone who gave up on being a lawyer, her dream, after realizing that she'd have to work three times as hard, just to earn HALF the respect as her male counterpoint. She didn't want to work herself into a stress-induced stroke or heart attack before she was 40, so she dropped out of law school altogether. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Are things better than they once were? Of course. Much better than, say, the 50's. But, there are still issues with women being treated as different than and inferior to men.

A lot of religions try very hard to get abortion banned and tell women that they are inferior to men and stay home. Yes, I have experienced this in my personal life.

Well a man who sleeps around is a stud and a woman who sleeps around is called a slut or loose or week morals which I have been called right here on AB..... Plus there are the pay differences and the constant assumption that I can't do something because I am a woman... Then there is the expectation that I should be the one who cooks and clean the house...although in all fairness to my hubby he would pay to have some one do it..

It is not easily seen especially by men. It is real. Many qualified women have been passed over for promotion due to the "good old boy network". When they do manage to get a leadership position they are criticized for being aggressive while it is acceptable for men to be so. Men allow fowl language amongst themselves however should a woman use colorful language or raise her voice she is repremanded while a man is not. Women are excluded from pertinent information and their recommendations often ignored. they are expected to sit quietly and be agreeable.

I can give you a example of gender inequality, it may not be directly related to me, I am Wicca, but in the Catholic faith , my mom is in, The men are predominate in that Faith, there are no female priest. not a one. as if Female are not worthy enough. I find this quite inequality's. This is way I generally went to a Christin religion, and then went to Wicca, the reason why, is I enjoyed the natural aspects of Wicca, and the use of mother natures uses, example, making oils out of roses for use of a beautiful scent, homeopathic medicines, I become more of a healer, but there is your example I hope that is a good one. bright blessings to you. However I still believe in god, and Mary, and Jesus, and goddess, I feel as a society we alter ourselves thus alter our education, thus, this is how as woman gender inequality stays as a mainstay.
