Is medical school in the US too long?

My 17 year old son got into a fight at school. The father of the boy is telling us that if we sign papers that we will pay the medical bills then he will not press charges against my son. How long after the fight does he have to do this?

  • Answer:

Sign nothing until you speak to an attorney. You could sign this agreement to pay the medical bills only to have the father use this agreement to prove that you believe your son is at fault for the attack. In other words, you'll get to pay the medical bills and doing so will provide them with "proof" of your son's guilt.

Other answers

I'm assuming that you're son started the fight? . Usually he has between 2 and 7 years to file the civil case, depending on where you live. I'd make sure that you talk to a lawyer first and see if you're even have to pay medical bills or if this guy is trying to rip you off.
