My full screen mode won't work.

I can't see my work sheet unless I am in "Full Screen" mode. Why? How can I fix?

  • Answer:

No. This did not solve any problems. This is what I am getting in any view I choose. Note: The document was not selected to be "hidden" as the "Unhide" button is not an option. I am very frustrated and a little peeved at Xcel for not having help on this problem. It seems to be very common when you search for it but no one has the answer to fixing it.

Try Windows / Arrange and pick one of the options there (may be more obvious if you have more than one file open). The system will tile, cascade or arrange the files in your active window in a way that you should be able to view any / all sheets you have open. I get this problem from time to time when I bring a file home from work, where I've been working with an Excel window spread over two side-by-side monitors. At home, with only one monitor on the laptop, the file I had opened on the "left side of the desktop" (the secondary monitor) "disappears" if I have it in non-full-screen mode. This should resolve that problem, I think.
