Which cellphone is much better to use?

Is there a cellphone service/plan geared for the very casual/rare cellphone use? I make LESS than 1 brief call a month on a cellphone and only need it for emergencies or when there isn't a payphone handy, which aren't common in my area.

I agree that a prepaid is the way to go. As for expiry dates, that isn't really that big an issue if you do it right. Hell, my old Tracfone is good until early-2011 after what I did! The phone was $10, and I kept putting $20 (60 minute) or $30 (120 minute) cards in it every month or so, each one extending the expiry date not from when I added the card, but when from the old expiry date was. Granted, I was a slightly heavier user at the time (about an hour a month) but in the end that phone averaged me about $10/month. But there really isn't a plan geared specifically towards you that I know of that doesn't actually cost MORE. The Verizon Wireless Prepaid plan comes close since it only charges you on days you use it, but you STILL have expiration dates based on how much you pre-pay; $15-$29.99 expires in 30 days, $30-$74.99 expires in 90 days, $75-$99.99 expires in 180 days, $100 or more expires in one year If you want to get along without prepaying, you need a plan and those start at *considerably* more. Even the "Anywhere Casual" plan from Consumer Cellular will be costlier and is less flexible.

I have a Nokia, and use T-Mobile to go, have for almost 8 years. After the first $150.00 in time purchases, left over time is rolled over, and I only use mine for emergencies, and when I'm traveling...not a talker on the phone. Go to a T-Mobile Store, and they will show you how it works.

Oh, shoot, yeah. All of the companies have a plan for people just like you. Starting at $65 dollars a month. Unless you want call out service. Then it's $82 a month. But cheap, man!

Prepaid cell phones. You can get them at wal mart.
