What does this Brazilian text mean in English?

My bf and I are going through a tough time lately- we have a lot of issues going on. I got a text from him after our last "argument": -> THINGS ARE RARELY AS BAD AS THEY SEEM." What does he mean by this? .. any ideas? english is not my mother language.

  • Answer:

I would take it that he has hope, and wanted to share that hope with you, that while this is a challenging time right NOW...it can be resolved in a positive way...working together. I hope he is right and that you are able to work together...wanting the best or better for each other! Look back to your COMMON GOALS, AND DREAMS...the ones you share with him..and ultimately want to support for each other....is what you have both been upset by, more important than your love shared?

Dont get too exited about all the issues, he still loves you and it is not as bad as you think. Calm down. +

What he's saying is that things may seem bad right now. However in a few weeks or a month the things you are arguing about will probably seem unimportant. I think the message he's trying to put accross is that even though you're having a difficult time right now, that there is nothing fundamentaly wrong with your relationship.
