Do photos you've uploaded to Facebook show up in search results in Google images?
-
What about Flickr? Or Myspace? Or other social networking sites?
-
Answer:
Facebook is complicated, because they recently changed their privacy settings, and never had the most clear privacy settings to begin with. As I understand it, your public photo on Facebook is visible to anyone, even non-members. You cannot prevent this, save for not uploading a photo. However you can set your other photos to friends or networks only. You can also exclude yourself from being listed in search engines. Other networking sites would need to be analyzed on a case by case basis, but I think it's safe to say that if you do not have the photo set as private, it can (if not necessarily will) be cached by search engines.
