How do I send photos with AIM instant messages?

  • Answer:

There are times when AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) users want to communicate via images or share pictures with their AIM Buddies. When such occasions arise, AIM makes it relatively simple to send photos and images, use file transfers and even post slide shows for friends; it's as straightforward as dragging and dropping files from your hard drive.Send an InvitationTo send pictures to a Buddy, you first have to send an invitation and the invitation needs to be accepted. You can do this by picking a friend out of your Buddy List, double-clicking the name and then clicking the "Pictures" button at the bottom of your IM window. Your Buddy will then have the option of accepting or declining the request.Send ImagesOnce your Buddy has accepted your invitation, you can drag and drop pictures right into the "Sharing Pictures" window in AIM. If you prefer, you can also click the "Send Pictures" button and then navigate to the folder on your hard drive where the image is stored. Double-clicking the file name selects and sends the picture.Send Photos Via SlideshowIf you have multiple pictures in your "Sharing Pictures" window, you can set up a basic slide show on AIM with just a few clicks. There's a little arrow next to the "Play" icon toward the bottom of the window. If you click on this, you can decide how long each picture will be displayed before the next one comes up. You can even add color to the slide show by clicking the "Actions" button on the bottom right side of the window and then locating the "Change Background Color" option.See What Your Buddy SeesThere's a "Buddy's View" icon at the top of the "Sharing Pictures" window. Assuming your Buddy has accepted your invitation to share pictures, you can click on this icon to see what your Buddy is seeing on AIM at any given moment. You can also click on the "Actions" button and select "Display What My Buddy Is Viewing" to change the location of this display or turn the feature off entirely.Source:http://help.channels.aol.com/kjump.adp?articleId=223338#first
