How To Cook Asparagus?

To pre-cook the asparagus in a crustless quiche or not?

  • Pretty much the only way I've prepared Asparagus is roasted. I'm going to make a crustless quiche, without a recipe, so..should I maybe pre-cook the asparagus a little? I'm thinking maybe the eggs will cook faster and I don't want cruncy asparagus, but don't want mushy either..

  • Answer:

Thanks for the answer, but I got so wrapped up in preparing my quiche, that I forgot the asparagus! After I stuck it into the oven, I turned around and oops! There sat the asparagus on the table. LOL It still turned out awesome. YUM. Leftovers make for a good breakfast or lunch the next day too. :)

Other answers

You could parboil the asparagus before adding it to the quiche. Drop them into a pot of boiling water and take them out again after about 2 minutes. It will soften them a little without completely cooking them.
