What are some jobs to go into without a degree?

It's 2 the point where you need a degree 2 flip burgers. If ppl said forget college would we go back to getting jobs because of experience?

  • Way back in the day you went out into the world found a job and learned as you went. But today to do anything besides fast food or working as a cashier you need a degree and sometimes even with that degree you still wind up working dead end jobs. Are we to focused on degrees today? There are still a few jobs out there where you can work your way up but they are few and far between. Unless someone is going to be a doctor or teach in a high school or college I don't think anyone else really needs a degree. Like business for example instead of sitting in class go out into the real world. And I realize some jobs pilot for example would require special training. But why learn that in a class reading a book. Go out and and talk to people get experience and learn the job .

    Education, like everything else in the US, has become a big business for the banks that finance it and the subcontractors who run the school. Things are so out of control in the US that nothing shot of an uprisal is ever going to put that monster back in its place.

Credentialism sucks! After many years gaining experience in the plastics industry, my employer was obliged to hire a couple of university graduates over me because our biggest customer would not accept our quality assurance certification without their credentials. They knew little or nothing, and did even less for twice my salary, while I was still doing the actual work. Naturally, I walked, and had the satisfaction of seeing the company absorbed by the customer after being plagued with quality problems.

Yes I agree with you. I checked into a federal forest service job as a maintence person. The job description on the bulleton board said: change toilet paper rolls, mop restroom floors, replace park benches, dig post holes, and the list went on then where it said quilifications it said person applying must posses an associates degree. And the reason why is it is a government job. The only way in is military service active or vetran or a mininum of an associates degree.

it is also 2 the point where people cannot use english correctly! Ppl need 2 understand grammar 2 get in2 university 2 get a degree. bur,, y would u need a degree 2 teach high school? The stuff u teach is not degree level.
