  Run the Microsoft Word program to display a blank document.Click the "File" drop-down menu, and choose "Open" to display the Open dialog box. In the Files of Type drop-down, choose "Works" to limit the file search to WPS files. If you are not seeing this option, the Works converter is not installed. You can install it from your Office or Word disc, or by downloading it for free from Microsoft.Browse to the file that you need. Because of your search limitation you specified in the drop-down menu, only Works files and folders appear in the list. Double-click the file to open it in Word. Make changes as needed. When you are finished, choose "File," and select "Save As" to display the Save dialog box. By default, your file will be saved as a Word document.
