    Please be careful. Driving through Mexico is really dangerous right now. I drove through with my boyfriend once and it was a horror story. I got really sick, a group of thugs tried to plant drugs on us and put us in jail, the car fell apart, I got chased by a rabid dog, and those were the good things. Now, they have a lot of kidnappings and drug wars going on. I should say, even more than before. It is dangerous even to fly to Mexico right now. Driving is taking a big chance. I don't want to put a damper on things for you, but you should rethink driving through Mexico.

Wait, you're traveling to Mexico with your boyfriend, and you're not planning on coming back, and you're sixteen? Please tell me that you're not running away. Forgive me for asking, but how old is your boyfriend? Is he just sixteen too? Listen to what people are trying to tell you about Mexico--it's not that safe. And, don't leave here without the necessary papers or passport. It's a bad idea to be somewhere without proper identification whether you're expecting to return or not. Best wishes.

Hide some identification in the car somewhere, so your parents can be notify when they find you. unless your going to listen to those who are trying to help.

You WILL need a passport, and if you are not returning to the US, you will need papers from the Mexican Consulate in order to stay in Mexico. Is your BF a Mexican Citizen? If you plan to work you will need papers . Google : Mexico Travel warnings as well as residency requirements Good luck
