Answer:
It was probably in a big truck with packages going other places. It may have even gone via Cleveland, who knows? What's amazing to me is how well they keep track of everything.

You will get your package, please keep in mind that the package delivery system(s) in all nations that celebrate the Christmas holiday are operating at their ultimate capacity this time of year, it may seem odd that a package travels just down the road or even in the other direction than the one it should be going, but these locations are connection hubs where the packages are routed to their destination, so it may take a bit longer then normal at this time of year-its just how the system work and works best, Fed-x is delivering some 17 million packages a day domestically in the US, that is a lot of freight, enjoy the holiday and have a happy new year. Have a nice summer too. (Its hard to imagine Christmas as a summer holiday unless one lives in SOUTH FLORIDA (-which I do )

I know it will arrive and I know they are busy, but amazon wouldn't have stated delivery time, as being the Tuesday the 20th if it was going to tae longer than that. They would have stated "due to the busy Holiday period your package may arrive later than estimated times", but they didn't so I was kinda expecting it to be on a plane on it's way here to Australia. But instead I find it has moved from one HUB to another and I couldn't figure out why, I figured it would be put through the sorting center and put together with hundreds of other orders set for Australia and then take to the airport for departure. guess i will have to wait till Monday/Tuesday, unless DHL Delivery on weekends, which I dought they do but given the time of year it is they could have extra staff on and be delivering on weekends. Anyway I'll update this Question when it arrives then it can be closed.

As too the Summer holidays the weather here is anything but summer, we have been having a lot of rain/thunder storms lately, which is a normal part of Australia's summer period, better to have thunderstorms and rain than Fire's and 40c+/110f+ degree days.

Well, I hope your expectations are met. Amazon has given me guess-timated arrival dates. I suppose they do with most orders . One of three things always happens, its early- rare ; on time-normal or late, but not by much unless its falls into a weekend logistic. I have seen packages head north from the Midwest before they turned south and came in my direction. There must be some economic reason or it would not happen that way. Thanks for the reply, many here ask questions but never comment on the answers, comments help to fine tune response, happy holidays - be prepared for some dog days of summer, it cant rain forever. The rain is also welcome here in the summer, the temps stay constant around 90F from the start of May until at least late October. I will say. I do enjoy Amazon for the mere fact that one can order almost anything at anytime from anywhere for a good price with reasonable prices and expect fairly reliable delivery. I have ordered overnight delivery, sometimes late in the day and still I took delivery the very next day, I have been impressed by that. I am from the 1950's -no need to say how slow the world moved back then - so Amazon and other e-commerce is just amazing to me.

No problem , I figured the only way to get further responses isto add more info, on that not my package is now listed as in transit with "Los Angeles Gateway CA US" being the last place it was canned at. it's probably because we have more flights from LA than most other cities in the us, I'll just have to wait till monday after i finsh the graveyard Shift (12am-5am) not sure if thats a term used in the US. currently it sunny here will now be going outside to do some yard work.
BundyBear
Yeah we have a graveyard shift, I should think that term came about in England, it would have fit right in to Mary Shellys Frankenstein no doubt. - All that rain -makes it grow, out to the yard here I go : )
