    I think that TurboB's answer was not complete. Memory cards from cameras and cell phones usually are too small to go directly into MMC/SD slots in computers and some printers. There are adapters that can hold the memory card that can be inserted into the slot. However, most cameras and cell phones have a place where chargers plug into that can also be used with the proper cable to plug directly from the device to the USB port on your computer.
