What can I do to help my 19 year old brother with a failure to appear, No insurance, suspended license, and possession
-
My 19 year old brother was charged with No insurance, suspended license (which can be fought), possession of alcohol and now failure to appear to his pre-trial. I just found out about this and I want to do what ever i can to help my brother out. I might be pissing in the wind, but if there is anything I can do to reduce what is coming at him, I have to try. His trial is in a couple days and I don't have much time. These are all the details I have, but I'll have more tomorrow. Thanks

Answer:
I know you don't want to hear this, but the best thing you can do is let your brother suffer the consequences. He only 19 and he's got some bad charges, he need to learn he can't keep doing that crap, and if you keep bailing him out, he's going to continue and his crimes will get worse. STOP enabling him. He's an adult, he needs to grow up and stop expecting sis to bail him out. You really aren't helping him .

The best thing you can do for him is let him suffer the consequences of his actions. If you help him get off lightly, he will just do it again.

You could hire an attorney.

Brother. He has an attorney but everything he is telling me sounds like he is just dragging my brother around trying to get more money. I am gonna go in with with him tomorrow and talk to him about it. Me and my brother are close. Why he didnt tell me this is beyond me. But I want to show him if he swallows his pride every once in a while, things may work out for the better. I do understand where you are coming from but all the work is gonna be on him. I am just going to tell him what he needs to do. And make him do it. I'd rather he learn the bad side of me rather than the bad side of the law.

Pray and go to court with him.

You could hire another lawyer if you don't like the one he has. All lawyers are not created equal, and some handle specific kinds of cases better than others. Other than that, all you can do is be supportive, and, as someone else said, pray.
