Are justbeats overhead earphones good?

Sound coming from earphones and ipod at the same time on normal volume, when muted only from earphones, means cant change volume of songs

• Hello, I was just playing my ipod. I noticed that sound is coming from the ipod and the earphones at the same time. Its a 5th gen, 16GB ipod nano, and have only had it 5 months. When the volume on the ipod is increased, you can hear it from both, however, when I decrease (even when I scroll the bar to the lowest setting) I can only hear it from my earphones, but not the ipod. This means when the sound on the ipod is so low, it is essentially on mute, I hear it as normal through the earphones, but when increased again, sound also comes from the ipod, thus I can\'t change the volume on the songs, otherwise the sound will come out from the ipod also! It is OK on the PC and stereo docker that I have. The same problem occurs when using other earphones. Any idea on the cause of this, and what I can do to remedy this please. All help greatly appreciated.......

  UPDATE: Just sorted it out. I read somewhere that I needed to hold the menu and middle button until the apple logo comes up. I did that, and it actually worked. What did it do, re-set it or something. Also what was wrong with it to have to do that, and what caused that to happen in the first instance.
