How do I cut the TOP yellow part of my lucky bamboo?

My friend cut off part of her bamboo and gave it to me, how do I get the stalks/shoots to grow longer?

  • It doesn't seem like it is growing at all and it has been a couple of months, will it even grow or what can I do?

bamboo grows into what size pot you have it in. If you want them to get bigger, put them into a bigger pot.

I have them in a long skinny vase but they haven't got taller...

Try one with a wider base. I don't know why it works but it does. I had bought a small ceramic square with I think 5 pieces of bamboo ranging from 3 to 8 in tall. When I deployed I left them with my mom. For some reason she repotted them in a 12 in pot from walmart. When I came back all the pieces were over doubled in size. I hope it works for you!!
