Answer:
Typically because you aren't connected to the Internet. If you can get to google, then it may be a security problem or you may be trying to access a bad link that is cached in your browser. Clear out your browsers Temp files by going to Tools or Safety/Delete Browsing History and make sure "Temporary Internet Files" is checked and all the others are unchecked (keep "Preserve Favorites website data" checked too). This is for the Internet Explorer browser btw. Also, if you are not using any kind of proxy, go to Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings and make sure "Automatically detect settings" is checked...again this if for Internet Explorer.
