How many members does Amazon have?

Why would Amazon limit prime members to applying for their Sweepstakes on Facebook. Does everyone have a Facebook page?

I got that email today and I was so pissed when I found out I could not even enter the Sweepstakes unless I had a Facebook account. That doesn't seem fair to me. I spend a bundle at Amazon. Lately a lot of my email message promoting things always have a link to Facebook. Even Snapfish where I store my photos now have links to post your photos on Facebook. UGH!!!

I don't have a Facebook page, I don't Twitter........I socialize with friends and family face to face, by email, and by telephone. I resent companies that expect every customer to participate in 'social networks'.

It seems unfair and a bit of a crock that you have to have Prime Shipping in order to enter a sweepstakes you aren't going to win anyway. Not everyone wants Prime Shipping - some of us don't mind waiting for an item and don't mind ordering $25 or more worth of merchandise at a time in order to get Free Shipping. This is blatant Discrimination against non-prime customers! Even if it included non-prime people, I still wouldn't win, so I really don't care but it still discriminates against we non-prime people.

Sounds like a way to get more followers on their Facebook page to me, which is exactly what most businesses are looking for on Facebook.

This is a bad idea. It excludes Prime members who might light to be part of the sweepstakes and alienates people.

I'm with you. I even thought maybe I could use the link to Facebook and enter the sweepstakes without having to belong to Facebook but no dice. I spend a lot of money on Amazon and I'm a Prime member. If Amazon has cut a deal with Facebook, they better have an alternative for us loyal customers. That's not fair. I'm with you.

Maybe some big shot at Amazon will read this and change the rules so we can also enter. :) HEY, ANYONE OUT THERE???

I'm a Prime member also, It is the best thing I ever did!

They have a woodworkers jointer they sell that weighs about 300 lbs and not only is price better (which isn't always the case) but it's Amazon Prime. Imagine what that would have cost to have delivered? I did order something heavy but i can't remember off the top of my head what it was but it probably paid for my Prime membership alone.
