Which manufacturer makes the best furnace and air conditioner ?

The fan on the furnace died. The A/C was running for two days with no fan . The A/C is 15 years ago. The technician said he thought the parts looked good inside. We wonder if the unit was stressed, and how many years left does the unit have (CARRIER).Should we go ahead and replace it, along with the furnace.

A Carrier sales rep I talked to said their company installed only a few heat pumps. He inferred it was an outdated concept. He talked of furnaces and air conditioners. Dont know what to think about that. Any ideas?

We found Rheem to be the best. Also get one that is energy star rated. That will save you money over the long run. Also check Consumer Reports ratings.
