Your periods are not late they are irregular and is because your just begining, I advised you to eat well, rest good and you will develope in time to a beutiful young lady. If you worry too much talk to your mom, aunt, grandma or some adult you can trust dont go by what your classmates tell you 'cause they don't know themselves for things like this you need an adult, and somebody to acompany you to a doctor when needed, even your father can acompany you to the doctor, this is a natural cycle of life and nothing to be ashamed for. Also, if you practice a lot of sports or ecxercise it may make your period irregular. I heard of a girl that had her period like from 12 to 14 and it went away for 4 years, it didn't came back till she was 18 and nothing evrything normal. Many things of the human body still a mistery. Maybe that would be a good career for you to study and investigate what goes on inside of us humans, a doctor, a scientist or a chemist able to create medicines that cure ilnesess or help little girls get regular periods. Another thing is very good that your not having sex and want to keep it that way, stay away from heavy playing (teasing), since this can lead to a situation that you may loose control of,emotional or phisical wise. It can take about 1 to 2 years for periods to settle into a pattern,to begin with they are very irregular all down to hormones,and at age 12 your hormones have not settled yet once they do your periods will come into a regular patter,it happened to me when i started at age 11.
