Chest pain while on birth control?

Can birth control pills cause chest pain? I have chest pain and the only thing I've done, out of the ordinary, is take a birth control pill

  • Answer:

Well, no disrespect to sweetcallie intended... But you COULD potentially be having a bad reaction to the pills. While not female myself, I've had bad reactions to cheap, dollar store tylenol as well as prescribed high blood pressure medications. My sister has had quite a few bad reactions to different medicines including birth control. If that IS the only irregular thing you've recently done, and have ruled out foods, drinks, soaps, shampoos and anything else potentially new - then that's likely the cause. If you stop taking them and it persists, get to a doctor. That particular type of medication may hit you badly so seek out something different.

Whether it is the pills or not you need a doctor. Chest pain is something you go to the ER for and not a website asking questions of random strangers.

It is highly unlikely. I would say you maybe have indigestion or a sprained muscle. If the pain is severe, seek medical advice, but it is most unlikely to be birth control pills.
