How to clear programs from the windows start up menu?

How do I add programs to the Start menu in Windows XP?

  • Answer:

Pin ProgramsClick on the "Start" button, then the "All Programs" menu. Right-click the program you want to add to the "Start" menu. Click "Pin to Start Menu." The program icon will now appear in the main start menu. To remove it, right-click the icon and click "Unpin from Start Menu."Click and Drag ShortcutsLocate a shortcut to the program you want to add to the "Start" menu on your desktop. If there is no shortcut, open "My Computer," double-click your "C" drive and then open the "Program Files" folder. Locate the folder for the program you want to add to the "Start" menu and find the file that launches the program, usually named "Program.exe." Click on the shortcut or EXE file and drag it to the "Start" button. When the "Start" menu opens, still holding the mouse button, drag the shortcut or EXE file to "All Programs," When the "All Programs" menu expands, drag the icon to a location on it--move the cursor slowly until a black line appears between two existing Start menu shortcuts--then release the mouse button to create a new shortcut.References:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/personalize/startmenu.mspxhttp://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/400/xp-drag-and-drop-to-create-a-shortcut-in-the-start-menu/
