Why is organic chemistry hard?

Can one teach high school chemistry if they do well in all parts of chemistry save for organic chemistry? Why or why not

  • Many people find organic chemistry to be difficult, but if most of chemistry is easy for you, can you still teach it at the high school level?

  • Answer:

Just get a tutor. Get in touch with the dept in your college/university that has a list of qualified grad students and pay them to help you at least once a week. If you're going for a teaching degree, that's a degree in education, and the courses are less challenging than the one's required for a degree in Chemistry or Physics. It's a matter of just working harder and getting it done. It'l be over with before you know it.

Sure. Just get a teachers license, and get a school to hire you.

"Can one teach" entirely depends on that state's written requirements for getting a credential and job teaching that subject. With me (California), it was so many units in that subject area.
