How do I accrue Delta SkyMiles without an American Express card?

I believe they (airlines) tend to be somewhat exclusive with who they partner with for promotional offers. if you do not specifically need delta airlines, you might be able to get a similar offer on another airline; from someone else.

No, i'll be flying delta... I mean how do I tell them that I'm flying? I don't have a card. I have a membership #. Do i tell them when I book the flight or when I check in? I just want to make sure the miles are credited to my account.

Ah... I understand... you're questioning how you get REAL frequent flyer miles credited... since I haven't even booked on Delta, I don't know my way around the website. I'd say if it hasn't shown up by the time you get to the "click here to confirm" point, then find the customer service link; but I would expect somewhere in the booking procedure they will have a slot for your membership number.
