Why do I keep running out of disk space?

I am running low on disk space should I keep file (Compatibility pack for the 2007 Office system) size 279.00 MB?

    First - compress disk to save space. Second - consider moving your files to an external USB drive. Third - if you still need to - uninstall the compatibility pack (you can tell people to send the old version of the Office document so that you don't need the compatibility pack to open it).

I wouldn't recommend it, there have been reports that removing the compatibility pack after Office 2007 is installed breaks the file associations for the new Office 2007 file formats. You might want to try DiskFerret Lite (http://www.diskferret.com/lite.html ), a disk space analysis tool that runs right inside your browser and helps you identify files and folders that are using the most space. It also includes a wizard that will remove unnecessary Windows patch files that can eat up a lot of space.
