Reminded me of a true story..... As my daughter started high school I got a call from the choir director saying that she was extremely talented. Funny because she never sang at home and we cannot carry a tune. What the heck.... how come? We did not know. Well, we play piano here at home and the kids had lessons. They were exposed to all kinds of music. We took them to New York to see Broadway musical shows etc... The choir director said he had asked my daughter to play something on the piano and she hummed in perfect tone and he concluded that she had trained herself. She must have some talent I assumed and she went on to be part of the elite group of singers in her school, in college and she sings with the town X-mas Choir. She does not have the voice power to sing alone but she is wonderful in a group. I'm sure you can find some kind of books/videos that will suggest the voice and breathing exercises. However, do yourself and the rest of the world a favor....when you want to know for sure ask a voice teacher to give you an opinion. We have been subjected to listening to people THINKING they can sing and tortured us for hours. I sure hope you can sing...it is wonderful so have such a talent. Go to http://Amazon.com and in search type: How to sing..... all kinds of instructional books, dvd's and cd's will come up. Research the ones that have the best reviews, and go from there. Eventually the expert's opinion will be necessary..... don't count on parent's opinion. We always think the kids are great.
