I have a hearing problem that makes it difficult to understand the dialog on some shows, particularly if there's a lot of background noise or music in the program. With the Polk Soundbar 3000 the dialog is really distinct and clear and I can hear everything more clearly now. Additionally, the overall sound quality provides a true home theater experience. Set up couldn't be easier - plug in the power and the included optical cable and plug in the power for the wireless sub-woofer. If your TV doesn't have an optical output (Toslink), a cable and adapter are included to connect to standard RCA audio output jacks or a headphone jack. A very convenient feature is that the unit will learn the volume control and mute codes from whatever remote you use for your TV or set-top box so you don't need to use the separate remote that's included except for adjusting the sub-woofer level. Another helpful feature is the auto on/off that turns the unit on with your TV and off shortly after you turn the TV off. Once you set up the Soundbar 3000 you basically never have to think about it again. It's a seamless replacement for the TV's built in speakers. Some have mentioned interference with their wifi signals from the wireless sub-woofer connection. I have had no problems and have measured the signal strength with the Soundbar and sub-woofer turned on and active and with both unplugged (just to be sure nothing was being transmitted on standby) and there is no apparent difference in signal strength or throughput. The measurements were made sitting 8 feet from the Soundbar and with the router located on the floor above, at about 40 linear feet away. I have the Soundbar set to channel 1 (factory default) and I set my wifi router to channel 11 to ensure no overlap but I didn't even have a problem when both were set to channel 1. FWIW, I use a Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N router (see my review). At the Soundbar 3000's price (about $300) I couldn't be more pleased. I'm disgusted they would put this piece of crap on the market, great sound but useless unless you run ethernet cables all across the house, which certainly promotes a different kind of clutter from the solution this ones supposed to give.
