How to find auditions?

where/how can i find acting auditions?

  • born 11-19-91. Los Angeles, CA. im trying to find auditions. i really enjoy acting unfortunately ive only taken one class and i dont hav the money for an agent. so i would like to know of any websites where i can find announcements for auditions. i tried google but SO many come up and many of them want my phone number and address BEFORE even mentioning an audition, it says like "Weve helped many ppl just like you" so im not too sure about them. thanks for ur help its greatly appreciated!godbless

    Hi Stephanie, I see that your in Long Beach so you should be able to get a hold of copies of Variety and the Hollywood Reporter. They usually have casting call listing in the back.

hi :) this is a site that I was meant to study for my Performing Arts Course and it is a great way to get acting jobs etc. You just put your CV on... and then when an employer is looking for someone with your experience, age, certain look etc. he/she can come across your page(you can get more info on the site... not sure if i am explaining it well): http://www.uk.castingcallpro.com/index.php

I can't say I'm too experienced with this subject since I'm also looking for auditions but I absolutely know for certain that if you have to pay anyone to get you auditions it's a scam. You should never have to pay for an agent; you're hiring them to find you a job. They recieve a part of the profit you get from the jobs they get you. You were smart about not signing up with those sites. You just have to start small, maybe find local auditions in the newspaper or on theater websites, and as you build a resume you can try to get an agent (DO NOT PAY THEM!!) and expand your opportunities.

Oh and one of the responses mentioned http://Castingcallpro.com. Be careful with that. I don't know about it but it might be sketchy.
