My printer won't read my laptop anymore?

I connected my printer to a port in my laptop but the laptop won't read the printer's usb or scanner ports to get pix

THe printer actually prints, but I can't use it's extra ports to transfer pictures from a flash drive or scan disc

If I understand the question, you are trying to read the flash drive [located in the printer ] on the computer. I don't believe it was intended to do that. At least my printer's ports are to print directly from the flash drive. If you want to view the photos on the flash drive, I believe you must put the flash drive in the computer. . . .

Understood, but why did the pictures transfer from the printer to my old PC that I just unhooked, but not my laptop? Thanks.

It is a mystery to me. I just tried to see photos in a memory card in my printer, and it doesn't show. This is not expert advice, but I would consider if the PC had a different OS, change the laptop USB port from one to another port, i.e. USB1 OR USB2, can you see the printer ports in the PC using Explorer. Hopefully someone will help you that has experience using this method. Good luck
