Who is the new director of barc?

Should a manager / director who is leaving, or given notice, hire new staff / friends immediately prior to leaving?

  • Just wanted to know what yaw'll think of this. A person has given notice and leaving her position as manager, and a new person is about to take her place. She has given her two weeks notice. But on her last couple of days, she hires several of her friends who don't want to have to flip burgers, so she gives them jobs. (True story -- happened just recently just want to know what other Askvillers think). New boss wanted to hire me but can't because leaving boss hired her friends last minute.

  • Answer:

It sounds like someone is feeding you a line of bs... if those people are not qualified they won't be able to perform the responsibilities of the job, so, if this is true, be patient, a job will open up.

Hum. I think new boss might be fibbing to you.

Oh, they could probably perform the job -- its fairly entry level. But I have about 15 years more experience, degrees, and education. Everyone was impressed with my resume and credentials. The ones who were hired WERE officially hired by the manager who was leaving. It just seems to me that once you've given notice you shouldn't be hiring people(especially friends) -- unless, perhaps, the person replacing you might not be good at hiring and wants you to hire staff who can get the job done.

Well, he could always fire the new people. But I don't think he was comfortable enough in his job to do this.
