What makes you think that they can't? Is there a certain belief system revolving around meat? Any verses against it, etc? Unfortunately, I can't offer advice because I'm not Muslim or know too much about the religion -- but! I think you can definitely work around ANY system if you really want to. However, do you really mean "vegan" or "vegetarian"? Because vegan means avoiding milk, leather, cheese, and ANYTHING ELSE that even "touched" an animal to make. I ask because I made the mistake of confusing the two when I asked my own question on A.B. =) But yeah, I think you can definitely work around the system. Try looking up on the internet "vegan Muslims" or something to that nature. You're sure to find a way! Good luck.
