  Creating a Household Budget in Microsoft WorksClick on "Templates" in the opening screen of Microsoft Works. Type "budget" in the search field, and press "Enter." Choose "Financial Worksheets." Scroll down to "Monthly Home Budget." Double-click on the icon to open the template. Fill in your budgeted income and expenses. This is how much you normally bring in each month and how much you generally spend each month. Fill in your actual income and expenses. This is the amount you actually brought in and actually spent during the month. Works will automatically do the math, calculating how above or below budget you went.Save Your WorkGo to "File." Select Save As. Name your sheet and click "Save."Tweak & Plan AheadReview your actual income and expenses. Adjust your projected expenses for the next month to be covered by your income.
