Can you put sunflower seeds in water to germinate them quicker?

-
Answer:
Sunflower seeds should not soak in water before planting. Excess water will make the sunflower seeds mold, resulting in failed germination. Place sunflower seeds between two sheets of moist paper towels until seeds sprout. Keep the towels moist, but not wet.References:http://gardening-guides.com/flowers/sunflowers.php
