How long does AVELOX stay in your system?

  • Last week, my doctor prescribed me Avelox for ear infection but I experienced most of the side effects so after 4 days, I stopped taking it. I couldn't function! It's been about 5 days since I stopped and I still have this unbearable headache (which I take ibuprofen that helps for a couple of hours) and occasional dizziness. I would just like to know how long does this stuff stay in your system so that I can feel normal again? TY!

  • Answer:

The half life of moxifloxacin (Avelox) is 11.5-15.6 hours for a single dose, oral. Approximately 45% of an oral or intravenous dose of moxifloxacin is excreted as unchanged drug (20% in urine and 25% in feces). If you're still having problems, perhaps it's not the medication that is the cause. I would urge you to see your doctor with these symptoms.
