Does GTA 4 PC work online?

How do i get my compaq laptop to play gta 4 pc. It should work.

  • I got a gta 4 for my laptop and when i play the game it runs slow and jumps about constantly it is like taking a picture every 3 seconds my laptop is fine with every other game and the make is a compaq presario cq61 and it is so annoying i bought the game for £30.00 and i can't work it. Do i need to update anything and i have done my research about this before and there is no sign any help or tops please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gta4 is a pretty CPU intensive game, and the minimum GPU is an nVidia 7900. IMO it will play like heck with that card. Being that it is a laptop, you may be screwed. Turn down the eye candy and resolution is your best bet. The Gpu that came with that laptop is strong enough but it doesn't have enough Gpu memory, 128mb gddr2 memory and the game's minimum is 256mb of GPU memory

If you have a discrete video card try lowering the resolution. Because you say it runs slow /jumps the card is not capable of the 26-30FPS it needs to run. I assume you checked the requirements of the game compared to your system spec's?.
